I actually thought about this when I read that Greensboro attorney Alan Duncan was joining John Edwards’ legal defense team. But it seems like Duncan represents everyone under the sun anyway, including the N&R, which I assume will be covering Edwards’ trial when it begins in April. That seems like a conflict of interest to me.

But here’s the bigger question — Duncan is also chairman of the Guilford County Board of Education, and everyone —including the Rhino’s John Hammer, who’s pulled no punched when covering the school board — seems to agree he does a fine job.

Still, Duncan already pulls long days a high-powered attorney and he certainly has his work cut out for him defending Edwards. While there’s no conflict of interest, isn’t it fair to ask whether or not Duncan will be able to continue to serve the school system well given the stress of his day job?
