A Carrboro alderman believes an education campaign is necessary to alert locals to the fact that animals live in the woods. Why? Because Alderman Randee Haven-O’Donnell was “shocked” to see a coyote while walking in the woods.

Interestingly, a local forest official seems a bit shocked that the Alderman is shocked. Greg Kopsch says there have been no attacks and he and his colleagues “are not overly concerned about their presence. To the contrary, we are pleased to have this diversity in species.”

By the way, I spotted a tree in the woods this morning.
