Greetings from Charlotte!
Tomorrow I plan to trek down to the Westin Hotel to crash the Charlotte Chamber’s mass transit summit in hopes of having someone tell me why Charlotte absolutely, positively must have light rail.
Also attending are one dog, one po-, wait, make that representatives from Charlotte transit, Mayor Pat McCrory, and the guest of honor, Federal Transit Administration Administrator Jenna Dorn, from whom the city would dearly love to get millions of dollars to build said conveyance.
I’m really trying to open minded about the whole thing, but I just can’t shake images of Ogdenville, North Haverbrook, Brockway, and Springfield from my mind.
I just know that if I see Lyle Lanley lurking around, I’ll run like hell. Wish me luck!
