Once again, we find an article about another WNC jurisdiction asking the wee folks to turn their prescription meds over to the police. It is supposed to save lives.

For some reason this caused me to flash back to the huge waiting line at Walmart’s pharmacy and a recent conversation I had with a small-beans pharmacist. He said the federal government doesn’t reimburse the little guys enough to profit off of certain government insurance plans. That is, the drug costs a certain amount, the federal insurance reimburses a portion, the patient pays another portion, and a heap of the cost is eaten by the purchaser. In other words, there are lines for medical goods and services, and they will get longer. Where did we hear something about that before?

But I digress. After Big Pharma and Big Insurance take a big rake off putting little pharma out of business, do turn over your drugs to Big Gummint. (See previous post.)
