Most teachers in North Carolina have received their new 2014-15 salary schedule. Each teacher in North Carolina will receive a pay increase.
Legislation says that a teacher is to receive either the higher of their teacher’s salary + longevity in FY14 or the new salary schedule. If a teacher’s salary + longevity was higher last year than the current placement on this year’s salary schedule, a teacher will receive the amount of their salary +longevity from last year plus a $1,000 bonus.
This is based on provision 9.1(e) in Senate bill 477
