Guilford County Sheriff BJ Barnes says two men escaped from the county’s High Point because “policies and procedures were not followed” by jailers:

Jose Alberto Hernandez-Hernandez, 35, and Jose Idel Sid, 35, escaped from the jail some time before 4:40 p.m. Hernandez-Hernandez was in jail facing 62 total charges, including indecent liberties with a child, first-degree rape and first-degree sexual offense. Sid was jailed on four sexual liberties charges and had an immigration detainer placed on him.

Barnes said the jailers will face discipline, which—-according to the N&R –could range from a reprimand to termination. This is the first inmate escape in 20 years, and that was from a transport van.
