The Alamance County Board of Elections has verified the signatures on Cary Allred’s petition, meaning the controversial former state representative will be on the November ballot for county commissioner as an unaffiliated candidate.
County GOP chairman Robert Simpson says “(b)ased on what I know of Cary Allred’s past, I expect a dirty campaign.” Combined with the Tea Party’s support for Sheriff Terry Johnson in his reelection bid, it should be an interesting fall in Alamance County.
