Cooney did a checklist on Mangum’s statements to determine who did what. Said she initially accused people named Brett, Adam and Matt. But on March 16 she changed her accusations about what the three had done to her. On April 6, she gave a hand-written statement in which she again changed what the three were supposed to have done. Three statements with three elements, and none matched.
Talks about Ann Burgess, rape expert at FBI Academy. Cooney said they consulted with her about rape trauma. Sent her all of the records. Burgess said she had never seen a real rape victim change her story this much. That was an “indication to her that something was terribly wrong.”
Who’s who? Said Seligmann asked him, “Am I Brett, am I Matt or am I Adam?” Show photo of Mangum being put into the car. Seligman, who she says was “Adam,” was not there. He was at the Wachovia ATM on 9th Street. On Dec. 21, Linwood Wilson interviewed Mangum unbeknownst to the DPD. Wilson asked her who’s who too?
Cooney says based on her statements, “Dave Evans is having sex with her from behind and from the front all at the same time.”
Now he’s talking about the time period of the alleged attack. Need to find 20-30 minutes in which it could have occurred. Says kids the age of the three players live in an electronic net these days, leaving electronic footprints everywhere. Says he’ll show their electronic footprints that were available to the DPD before anyone was ever charged with a crime.
