Monday’s Raleigh News & Observer carried a Page 1 story about the escalating debate over Amendment One. “Once you get low-interest government money to help you expand and do things, why should you do it on your own?” asked Chad Adams. The piece also made note of what Cary Town Councilman Michael Joyce calls the “simple trickery” of North Carolinians for Jobs & Progress, which bought seven “noamendmentone” web domain names. Visitors to the sites, which appear to be ANTI-Amendment One, are greeted with a PRO-Amendment One message. Meanwhile, two papers in eastern NC interviewed Adams: the Washington Daily News and The GAM. He also spoke to the Yadkinville chapter of CSE on Thursday, and he’ll address Saturday’s “No Amendment One” rally sponsored by the state Libertarian Party at the capital. This week, the NC Center for Voter Education offered to run Adams’ A-1 commentary in its voter guide. The Courier-Tribune of Asheboro included comment on A-1 from Roy Cordato in its recent story about amendments that will appear on the November ballot.
