Saturday’s anti-Amendment One rally in Raleigh, featuring remarks by Chad Adams and others, didn’t warrant coverage from the News & Observer. That slight prompted a letter to the editor in Wednesday’s paper from the Wake County Libertarian Party (the state party sponsored the event). “I am having great difficulty imagining how this continued lack of coverage of Libertarian events and candidates can be considered unbiased or impartial,” wrote Steven Hinton. But other media outlets are interested in discussing TIFs. Adams appeared on WTKF’s “Lockwood Phillips Show” Wednesday. One caller, who was clearly associated with North Carolinians for Jobs & Progress, was stumped by this question from co-host Connie Asero: “Why do you have to bypass voters?” After a noticeable amount of dead air time, the caller replied, “For speed.” On Thursday Adams taped an interview for State Government Radio (570 AM in Raleigh), which will air next Thursday at 9 a.m. His commentary explaining how TIFs work, and the impact of Amendment One if passed, was published in Dunn’s Daily Record.
