The American Ling Association released its ‘State of the Air’ report and –you guessed it — the Greensboro -Winston-Salem-High Point metro area got a both big fat F.

Check out the numbers Forsyth’s numbers, which the N&R blames for the region’s failing grade:

The county earned its failing mark on ozone for averaging six code-orange ozone days a year in the 2009-11 period, the one covered by the American Lung Association’s new report.
Code-orange levels are those that are considered unhealthy for people sensitive to air quality levels, while red, purple and maroon levels can affect everyone. The county had no measurements in the red, purple and maroon categories.

Six days out of 365 –let me do the math –that leaves 359 days of quality air. Considering the 1,000-plus ways to die in this crazy world, I’ll take those odds.
