Our friend and E.A. Morris Fellow, Dallas Woodhouse, is doing a great job representing NC taxpayers here at the Americans For Prosperity Defending the American Dream Summit. Yesterday’s activities included a press confrence with other AFP delegations on the plaza of the Canon House office building. The theme was/is a call for an end to pork barrel spending and fiscal earmarks.

Later the NC folks had a meeting on the Senate side of Capitol Hill with several NC representatives. Finally, a reception for all AFP Summit-goers in the Hart Senate Building ?complete with a couple of speeches by both representatives and candidates.

Today, AFP President and master of ceremonies Tim Brown, speaking from the Summit location at the Mayflower Hotel, introduced Art Pope for the morning’s first remarks. Art’s introduction led off the talks by a series of Congressional representatives and Presidential candidates, who addressed the crowd on the topic of American prosperity and the role of government in that pursuit. Joining the dignitaries, we also heard from CSE founder and Koch VP Rich Fink on the CSE (Citizens for a Sound Economy) and AFP organizatons, and from ABC 20/20’s John Stossel.

Hats off to Dallas Woodhouse once again this morning: The leadership of each delegation got a brief on-camera spot early on. In the TV footage of this event, you won’t have to look too hard for NC. We are the folks (at least some) wearing the pink pig (yes) hats, complete with light-up red eyes and sound effects, in the crowd. In any event, NC is right up front- not hard to spot. Dallas Woodhouse has no doubt been immortalized now wearing the blinking pink piggy. (Go Dallas! We have folks here with cameras–will have them post ASAP.) corrected
