Writer Karen DeCoster here gives what I think is a very accurate assessment of the predicament we’re in. Most people don’t have the slightest idea what has gone wrong with the US and are easy marks for shady politicians who capitalize on their ignorance. She says, “I fear that the people like us — the bold skeptics, resistors, and dissenters — are spread mighty thin and this is why the whole move toward the nationalization of our economy and our lives is happening with only small pockets of resistance.”

I certainly wouldn’t expect any resistance from those witless Daily Kos types who are elated over the prospect of the final crushing of “conservative ideology.” There is much to object to under that expansive phrase, but it covers the pockets of resistance to the completely politicized society. Fools like Moulitsas may think they want to slide down that slope, but people with an ounce of foresight can see that it ends in disaster.
