The county is considering a lease with the Watauga County Farmers Market to allow the market to use county property at the Human Services Complex. The county commissioners are weighing the impact of allowing private businesses to profit from public property.
Funny. The City of Asheville let a farmers’ market operate in the parking lot of its public works building. I don’t recall anything published about one iota of that kind of consideration. These days, private profit from public coffers is called partnering.
