I’ve just come across an excellent quotation by Jefferson that I’d never read before:
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
Just imagine how different the US would be if we had never made the mistake of letting government become the Big Nanny.
