North Carolina could see a tangible impact from last year’s renewable energy legislation if a new “wind farm” proposed for Carteret County wins approval. John Locke Foundation Legal and Regulatory Policy Analyst Daren Bakst had predicted months ago that government mandates for renewable energy would spur interest in unsightly, inefficient, and wasteful wind power projects. He shared his concerns this week with Lockwood Phillips on WTKF’s “Viewpoints” radio program. He also spoke at a wind power workshop sponsored by the State Energy Office and other groups in Carteret County.
