Just ran across a fun headline for a letter to the editor in a North Carolina newspaper. The author was proposing that juries be selected from within the ranks of the unemployed, since they presumably have little to do and thus could serve without disrupting the workplace the way employees must.
Unfortunately for his argument, his intended thesis that the unemployed should comprise the jury pool was headlined this way:
“Why not compromise jury pool from ranks of unemployed.”
