County Manager Dudley Watts to Forsyth commissioners:
“You are in a position to be an anchor tenant in downtown Winston-Salem. The county will have an impact and share in this downtown energy that is happening right now.”
I’m not sure what it says when part of that downtown energy will be a 272-bed addition to the Forsyth County jail. But should the addition become reality, Forsyth, unlike its neighboring county to the east, will cut to the chase and pay for it with COPs.
