Yesterday I blogged about the shameless waste of time and resources that has gone on — evidently for years — in the Hillsborough’s police department, right under the nose of the town manager. Today the Herald-Sun reports that the Orange County DA has told town manager Eric Peterson that no laws were broken when employees spent hours upon hours upon hours surfing the net and operating a private, for-profit business on town time — and thus, at taxpayer expense.
Whew! So should town taxpayers feel better now?
Where was the town manager during this years-long debacle that he himself has called “a major screw-up”?
