Majority of media are reporting the Carolina Panthers home game against Minnesota will go on as planned in spite of mass protests, but The Hill reports:

The National Football League (NFL) and the Carolina Panthers are considering moving a game out of Charlotte this weekend due to mass protests that have overtaken the city in recent nights.

The Panthers are in contact with the Charlotte police department, local and state officials and the league office in New York over how to proceed, according to a statement released Thursday by the team’s front office.

“We are in contact with government officials, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the NFL,” a team spokesperson said. “We are continuing to monitor events as we prepare for Sunday’s home game.”

Stay tuned—-of course the other option is to play the game in an empty stadium, as Major League Baseball dictated the Orioles do in the wake of the Freddie Gray protests in Baltimore. Playing a baseball game in an empty stadium is one thing; playing an NFL game in an empty stadium is altogether different.
