That’s the name of a group that, according to this Herald-Sun story, has organized in Durham. Well, they’ve certainly gotten everyone’s attention — particularly people who drive through Durham.

A group calling itself Angry Neighbors With Paintball Guns says it is starting a citizens campaign to reduce speeding on neighborhood streets in Durham, and has posted signs warning that the speed limit will be enforced by residents.

“We are a small group of neighbors who have reached the limits of our patience with the city’s inability, some might say unwillingness, to address this issue,” the group said in an e-mail to news media. “We are disappointed that the city has stopped funding and promoting its PACE Car program, which was a successful first step in reclaiming our neighborhood streets from those who abuse the privilege of driving. We are frustrated by the ongoing problem of city of Durham vehicles, including garbage trucks and DATA buses disregarding posted speed limits in our neighborhoods with impunity.”
