Well, well. Charlotte’s favorite real estate booster Doug Smith reports that another Uptown condo tower is on hold. This time it is the 32-story 300 South Tryon. A couple weeks ago it was the 40-story One Charlotte project.
Prediction: If and when these projects come back, it will be primarily as office space and retail.
Bonus Caution: Note to local real estate “analyst” Emma Littlejohn of The Littlejohn Group — whom Smith seems utterly smitten with — if the project is “very needed” why is it being delayed? Are you analyzing the objective market or trying to spin it? They tried that in Florida too. For awhile.
