Enviro nuts have caused many disasters that they later blame or things like capitalism or Republicans. They wanted DDT banned and millions died. They wanted incandescent bulbs banned and now we have a problem with what to do with mercury-laden compact fluorescents. And they’ve pushed ethanol for years, causing worldwide inflation in food prices as all the corn is taken for that questionable fuel. Through all this they blithely continue as if they had no hand in these calamities.
Well, now it’s gone too far. They’ve messed with Passover:
“Passover margarine is made only from cottonseed oil or palm oil. … [D]iscouraging production is a shortage of cottonseed oil that has driven its price way up. Some U.S. farmers deserted cotton to plant corn last year when ethanol production sent corn’s price higher.”
