He has the nerve to say that if we want to control rising health care costs, it would make far more sense just to change the tax laws. “The best solution to this problem of private overconsumption of health services would be to eliminate the tax rule that is causing the excessive insurance and the resulting rise in health spending.” You can read his column here.

Why glob on layers and layers of new government control when simply repealing a mistake from the distant past would accomplish much more?

I think we all know the reason: the real objective of this crusade is to shackle Americans to the concept that health care is a “right” and the government will decide how much each of us will be allowed to enjoy that “right.” This is not about costs. It’s about advancing the statist goal of turning independent people into obedient servants of the state.
