The Panthers just cannot give their fans a break, can they? The Browns shoulda been well buried by the fourth quarter, yet there was still a trickle of life in them. Doubt that Cleveland’s division mates in Baltimore and Cincy in the next two weeks can be topped with a similar effort from the Panthers.

In particular, it would be interesting to go back and lift out a couple of the freakish plays by Julius Peppers and see how the Panthers defense stacks up. The Browns offense looked bad, but it is in fact horrible.

On the flip side, the Panthers just cannot convert third down with any regularity. That means way too many three-and-outs and keeps putting the defense back on the field.

Here’s hoping the Ravens go into overtime tonite in Denver and eek out a win to come home a flat and tired 5-0 for next Sunday. The Panthers are going to need all the help they can get.
