The News & Observer’s T. Keung Hui did a pretty good job with an article today about the progress of homeschooling in North Carolina.

But why does the media, in every single article about homeschooling, have to address “socialization?” As Hui’s article explains well, most homeschoolers are as involved if not more involved in activities that promote social skills.

Get over it. If you want to address the real problems of homeschooling, talk about added stress or financial burden for those families. If, as Hui writes, homeschooling has become accepted in society, then socialization is a non-issue.
