In the latest round of opinions from the N.C. Court of Appeals:

  • A unanimous panel upheld a lower court ruling that Durham County could not assess property tax against a public housing community developed in conjunction with the Durham Housing Authority.  
  • A split panel ruled 2-1 that Red Hat could not recover lawyer’s fees in a dismissed case from a former shareholder who had alleged mismanagement by company leaders.
  • A unanimous panel upheld the Onslow County drug conviction of a suspect who challenged police officers’ procedure in chasing him after a traffic stop.
