Two unanimous N.C. Appeals Court opinions this morning affirm lower court rulings against Jerry Alan Reese, a plaintiff fighting a 2007 agreement linked to the Brooklyn Village development in Charlotte. 

In other rulings:

  • An appellate panel also ruled in favor of the City of Durham in a dispute with an insurance company over a former police officer’s worker’s compensation claim. 
  • Appellate judges ruled against the N.C. Department of Transportation in an eminent domain case involving the just compensation associated with taking a church building in Richmond County.
  • The appeals court ruled against the N.C. Department of Revenue in a dispute over claimed business tax credits.
  • Appellate judges ruled in favor of Pender County in a dispute with an individual taxpayer over property tax assessments.
