Among this morning’s rulings from the N.C. Court of Appeals:

  • Judges have upheld the Durham murder conviction of Robert Petrick. You might remember him as the man convicted of killing his wife Janine Sutphen, who was often identified in the news as a “Durham cellist.”
  • Judges have upheld Asheville’s five-year-old annexation ordinance for the Huntington Chase area. In January 2006, a trial court had ruled against homeowners challenging the ordinance.
