Appeals court upholds tax man’s take on senior picture ‘sitting fees’

A new ruling from the N.C. Court of Appeals upholds the Revenue Department’s ability to assess sales tax on “sitting fees” photographers charge to high school seniors. The tax man assesses the tax if the students end up buying any of the photos.
