A unanimous three-judge panel of the N.C. Court of Appeals has upheld a lower-court ruling throwing out a Guilford County lawsuit challenging North Carolina’s marriage laws. The Guilford register of deeds, three ministers, same-sex domestic partners, and a disabled heterosexual couple concerned about marriage’s impact on their government benefits all had filed suit challenging state marriage laws on constitutional grounds.
