This is 1000% speculation, but it sure seems that if Southwest air comes to Charlotte, slapping that name on the Uptown arena could quickly follow. Southwest is one of the few airlines without an arena naming deal and the move would give it instant presence in the area.
Of course, it could be that one of the reasons Southwest makes money and other airlines do not is because Southwest does not throw money at arena naming deals. In any event, an idea.
