Dennis Prager has a good column on the difficulty of arguing with leftists. The difficulty, of course, is the proclivity of so many of them to resort to the infantile “well, you’re just anti-….” counterattack whenever their cherished interventionist ideas are challenged.
Prager doesn’t mention one of my favorite variations here, the “you’re just bashing…” line. Remember Clinton’s big health care proposal back in 1993-4? Hillary was leading the way on it, and when people started to criticize the proposal, the White House put out the word that it was unhappy over the “bashing” of Mrs. Clinton.
