A couple of assumptions about Guilford County Commissioner Steve Arnold’s proposal to delay property revaluations.
First, Arnold’s making this proposal with no guarantee that he’ll be around to take credit for it, given his ongoing financial troubles. That said, I’d still be surprised to see him give up his seat, considering the fact that being a county commissioner is his only apparent means of income right now. I’d also be surprised to see a serious challenger in the upcoming election. But strange things happen, as we saw during the last election.
Second, why would the county be dreading a 2012 reval, since the federal stimulus surely will have worked its magic by then?
