I think this is one of those times when you say “Your Freudian slip is showing.” Here’s what Hillary Clinton said on CNN’s “Situation Room” yesterday (emphasis added):

I think the fact that governors are being forced into this position is
really unfortunate. They should not be making immigration policy. The
federal government should be making immigration policy and that’s what
I’m going to try to do as president again and I do not believe that in
the context of federal immigration reform that that would be an issue
that governors would have to contend with.

I’ve felt for some time that Hillary would never be president because at some point the American people would conclude they were going to get the same unseemly package they got during Bill’s tenure. Comments like the one above are going to cement that in the nation’s mind.

UPDATE: Should have mentioned that it went completely over CNN Correspondent Candy Crowley’s head.  She didn’t even notice.  Is that what passes for a hard-hitting interview at CNN these days?
