A few weeks ago, the N.C. Public Forum attacked George Leef’s excellent paper, The Overselling of Higher Education. The Forum’s critique was weak, so weak in fact that it appeared that the author did not read the entire paper. George contacted the Forum to discuss the matter, but they failed to return any phone calls or emails. I even heard that George sent a telegram over there. Just kidding.

This week, the Forum takes a jab at JLF’s humble education analyst and the delightful director of the N.C. Education Alliance. Commenting on the State Board of Education’s delay of state test scores, the Forum observes:

Other less-charitable spectators seized on the fact that the announced date for the release was two days after next Tuesdays election and postulated that no one wanted bad news being announced just days before a statewide election.

I am not sure the Forum used the word “postulated” properly in this context. Regardless, I am guilt of the above offense, I am right, and I will continue to be a ?less-charitable spectator? whenever I hear the mealy-mouthed education establishment speak.
