The N&R pans Wednesday night’s performace at the Carolina Theatre:
The historic Carolina Theatre was transformed into a coffeehouse Wednesday night as Allison Moorer and Steve Earle took the stage.
But instead of serving espresso, they poured decaf and nearly put this reviewer to sleep.
…..Who knew that Earle, once believed to be the savior of Nashville, would become a one-man jam band? The hight of the evening was an impassioned performace of “Billy Austin.” The rest of Earle’s set, though, was short on hits and long on protests about U.S. involvement in Iraq, proving there is such a thing as too much folk.
