Reading the news that UNC-Chapel Hill leaders have signed off on the design of the first building in Carolina North reminds me that I spent much time and effort following the same issue 10 years ago for WCHL Radio.

At that time, the property was still called the Horace Williams tract, and the university was working with Chapel Hill and Carrboro elected leaders to reach a deal for developing the site. The pace of negotiations appears to have held steady.

There’s still no word on whether the new design incorporates Norv the Blueprint.
