Sorry to upset your little Orwellian love-nest, but as you’re bounded by the First Amendment (and also the even more liberal North Carolina Constitution), you’re pretty much stuck. So tell your apparatchiks the bad news that they have to respect the rights of people they don’t like, such as folks who believe in freedom:

UNCG staff … told us that we couldn’t stand outside in front of the Elliott University Center because it’s not a “free-speech zone.” … [We were told] There are two free-speech zones on campus. Within these zones, people may speak as they wish and distribute literature, as long as they let UNCG know 48 hours in advance. (Of course, that means that even in that case it’s not free speech, for you have to get permission two days in advance!)

If it makes you feel any better, neither Constitution tells you that you have to like the people whose rights you have to respect. Thought control is your gig, not freedom-lovers’.
