As America’s first president under the U.S. Constitution, George Washington wanted to visit all 13 states at some point during his term. He embarked on a Southern tour in 1791 to cover the Carolinas and Georgia.

Author Warren Bingham discussed that tour during a presentation today to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Bingham discusses Washington’s goals.
