Barack Obama has been criticized for his ever-changing story of his relationship with unreconstructed New Left bomb thrower William Ayers, saying first that Ayers was “just a guy in the neighborhood,” and then having to admit he worked with him for nearly a decade on various boards. His latest iteration is that he thought Ayers had been “rehabilitated” from his errant lefty-radical ways.
But a recent radio interview Ayers gave in 2002 shows Obama to have been the most naive person in Chicago or, at least in 2008, not a very truthful person. Here’s Ayers (emphasis added):
I mean, I’m as much an anarchist as I am a Marxist which is to say I find a lot of the ideas in anarchism appealing. I’m very open about what I think, and nobody here is surprised about what I think.
