The Social Security Administration recently released the most popular baby names of 2005.
Top Ten boy names (in order): Jacob, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Ethan, Andrew, Daniel, Anthony, Christopher, and Joseph.
Top Ten girl names (in order): Emily, Emma, Madison, Abigail, Olivia, Isabella, Hannah, Samantha, Ava, and Ashley.

quick and controversial observation: Doesn’t it seem that the girl
names are more original? Not that original is necessarily
good–my parents were so “original” that they spelled my first name
wrong: Daren (most people spell it Darren or Darin). I may have
gone on a little tangent there, sorry.
