He voted for it, but the state’s soon-to-be-senior U.S. senator now says he doesn’t like the way the Bush administration’s financial bailout is progressing.

Was this some sort of put-up job? Yes, this was created. It was created by the Bush administration with a series of idiotic, poorly thought-out financial interventions ? starting with Bear Stearns. This was a panic that was created by mismanagement of the White House by a Republican president who claimed to be for free enterprise. If you want to understand why the country just decided to go a different direction, that’s all you need to know. It was a disaster created by Bush and by his foolish advisers, including his treasury secretary.
