This is unbelievable. NC DPI is using Title I (low income student) funding to coerce charter schools into signing on to the state’s Race to the Top application. As far as I know, supporting a Race to the Top application is not a prerequisite to receiving Title I funds.

Letters of support for our application is an important part of demonsrating [sic]that we have statewide support to carry out the tasks in our plan.

Letters must be received no later than May 21st. Please fax your letters to Vanessa Jeter, Director of Communications & Information at 919-807-3481.
