Tuesday, Asheville City Council will revisit an amendment to city ordinances to make them consistent with state determinations about the extent to which people may keep and bear arms. Since council members are appalled at the notion of self-defense with an authorized weapon – around children – they are also likely to approve a resolution with the following colorful language:
1. The Mayor and the City Council of the City of Asheville through the adoption of this protest resolution hereby declares its [sic., sic.] outrage and condemnation for S.L. 2011-268 and S.L. 2013-369.
2. The Mayor and the City Council of the City of Asheville resolve that a copy of this resolution be spread upon its [sic.] minutes for public consumption and that a copy be sent to the North Carolina General Assembly.
