Here’s where our country’s drastic lurch to the Left has landed liberal feminist Sen. Barbara Boxer, Democratic Senate incumbent from blue, blue, blue California. She appears to realize her party’s policies of government intervention — policies she supports — jeopardize her re-election. At a fundraiser for Boxer headlined by President Obama, Boxer characterized the political winds this way:

Boxer herself, who’s seeking a fourth term, referenced the perceived enthusiasm gap between the Democratic base and the revved-up tea party movement, and said her supporters had to battle back.

“Are you ready to go toe to toe to them, cup by cup by cup? Because I am,” Boxer said. “We’re in a run for our life. We’re all being tested now. The times are testing us.”

Considering California’s consistently liberal voting record, odds are Boxer will pull out a win. But the fact that an established, high-profile incumbent whose beliefs mirror those of the White House is being forced to raise money and campaign hard for her seat, is an excellent indication that more and more Americans are rejecting the policies of government intervention and massive deficit spending that has led to unprecedented levels of debt.

Politics aside, what must we do to create jobs and regain our economic vitality and prosperity? Steve Forbes has excellent advice.
