It’s fascinating, in a lurid way, to watch the diversityniks at work inserting their political agenda into everything. Such as at N.C. State, which has a new “diversity czar” (the reporter’s term, not mine) in Jos? Picart, who says:

professors should integrate diversity into the classroom of every discipline, no matter how technical. For example, he said, a humanities student could be required to attend a lecture or dinner and then write an essay about it. An engineering professor could require students to go into the community to conduct group projects, then grade them on their interactions with residents.

No matter how technical? Do these people actually believe that this would make people’s reports of their feelings change substantially? Why not just send an FTD Pick-Me-Up Bouquet? to each minority student, and let professors teach material relevant to their disciplines? This is more Barney-does-college condescension.

Oh, don’t miss this admission: “We say academics is our core mission. So we must put diversity into academics.”

In other words, diversity is your core mission. Yes, yes, we knew that already:
