Well, that ought to be the name of the boat now for sale by NC’s Ferry Division.  The boondoggle (discovered and exposed by CJ’s Don Carrington) that led to lots of guilty pleas from environmental violations from ferry employees is now leading the state to sell the ferry.  Hush-hush and highly embarrassing surely.

I love it when state officials, covering for cowardly politicians, try to spin things positively:

“The vessel doesn’t meet our needs, and we’ve offered it for sale to
try to recoup some of our costs,” Ernie Seneca, spokesman for the state
Department of Transportation, said. DOT paid $277,000 for the boat
three years ago.

Truth is, the ferry was built to haul workers to the wealthy areas of the outer banks that can’t afford to live where they work. In the end, it was revealed that it would be moving 1 student once in operation.  The ferry never could meet safety requirements either.  Still waiting for the apology from legislators who slush funded their way through this project.  (HT-BG)  Sadly, even the news story still insists that it was built for schoolkids.  Shame, shame. . . .
