I noted here yesterday Karl Rove?s somewhat-swaggering interview with The Washington Times about the presidential race and other political matters. Naturally, the Kerry campaign has responded, questioning Rove?s analysis of a number of state contests and the general momentum of the campaign.

OK. But what possessed Kerry spokesman, and former Clinton spokesman, Mike McCurry to say that ?the electoral map is going to be shades of blue and gray? in response?

He?s either staying within the current political nomenclature but color blind (a Kerry wave would like look a mixture of blue and purple, not blue and gray) or he is trying to redefine the race as a war between the Union and the Confederacy.

Hmmm.
