I visited AB Tech today, in the old Elm Building where I worked over a decade ago. I couldn’t help but notice a Safe Zone. I almost went inside to see if it was a good place to leave political literature. Instead, I went about my business. Then, I noticed some posted flyers that defined Safe Zones. They are rooms where the teacher does not condone hate speech against people with varying alternative reproductive habits. The identity groups were listed, but on one of the flyers, “queer” was crossed out. While you try to make sense of that, consider also why a flyer for Constitution Day was posted on the Behavioral Health bulletin board.
